The Flower FIeld
We are growing our own cut flowers on land we are renting in Banwell. This is at Home Farm on Silvermoor lane. The flowers are growing in a lovely south facing position and we are hoping to grow enough to cover our demand, supply others and also sell bunches of flowers for others to arrange at home.
Last year we grew Sunflowers, Cosmos, Sweet Peas, Dahlias, Nicotiana, Pinks, Scabious, and Echinacea, Achillea, Tulips and Narcissi. This year we have gone seed mad and have grown lots of unusual varieties such as Ammi, Clary, Vipers bugloss and Bupleurum to name a few.
We have increased the field size greatly this year which means we are also growing roses, dahlias, cosmos, sunflowers and many other focal flowers.
